Rüppell Hunting is a family business and somehow each member of the Janse van rensburg family contributes to it.

Omaue  is a Janse van Rensburg family ranch. The first generation occupied the farm in 1928 and Jan and his family is the third generation on the ranch. Through the years our ancestors established cattle farming thoroughly as a tradition and we take pride in not breaking it, thus leaving everyone with enough work when not occupied with hunting. Much have changed from those first days. Much, but not everything. The authentic house, built prior to world war one and believed to be originally the outer buildings and storage place is still accommodating those seeking hospice at Omaue. Some changes have been made though. Each generation contributes some new character. The porch is expanded and additional guestrooms have been erected to the original building. Effort is made to keep the character of this solitary house.

Apart from hunting and farming, Omaue also accommodates day guests on this sensational ranch, offering a variety of adventurous and wonderful activities. We love to show this fantastic piece of earth to all those who can appreciate its magnificent scenery and captivating atmosphere.

The name, Farm Ruppell is derived from the Ruppell’s parrot, an endemic bird to the north and north-western part of Namibia.

In addition to cattle farming we also have a number of sheep and milking goats.

Putting her phenomenal skills in the kitchen and superb taste to use Petro produce her own delectable goat’s milk cheese. Most of what you will enjoy from Petro’s kitchen is probably forged together by Petro herself. This is a creative family who is passionate about creating their own.
